We work with athletes and former athletes at every stage in their journey. These are their stories.
“After connecting with Alyssa through Instagram we spoke of my serious injury and the setback, as a former athlete you can imagine the impact this had. I’d felt like I had lost my identity all over again and that my training/competing defined me as a person. Alyssa navigated me through some pretty tough emotions and to be fair some emotions I didn’t even realise I was having. I’d been blaming myself for a completely freak accident and she identified this for me and talked me through the process of forgiving myself. Without her help I would not be in the mindset am currently and will be forever grateful to her. Thank you Alyssa!”

"I really did not believe in my abilities before i started this journey. I have learned to appreciate failures as a learning experience and not let them hold me back or quit. I now listen to myself and pay attention to what I could have done better for next time. I have stayed consistent in my workouts and have changed my mindset to well-being. I now look at it in more of a holistic way and not a chore."

I reached out to Alyssa after being stuck for some time. I had finished my coaching certification and then didn’t do anything. I just kept putting it off, telling myself I wanted to start a coaching business, but just waiting. Reaching out to Alyssa was my first real action step. We meet for a consult and I was on board immediately. We started by revealing the state I was in. I was letting my perfectionist procrastination self control me, which essentially meant I wasn’t doing anything. We worked through this.
I started stepping out of my comfort zone and posting on social media. I was resistant to change or doing anything Alyssa suggested many many times, but she was patient and willing to meet me where I was. As I started to shift my perspectives and my business started to grow we were able to dig deeper, not only working on what was good and hard with business, but also digging into what makes me me, working on self care, relationships, and all sorts of things that we’re holding me back or areas that growth would only strengthen. Every session I gained new perspective and found new ways to grow. I’m actively growing my nurse coaching business and showing up consistently for it. I truly believe I would still be waiting had I not reached out to Alyssa months ago.

“The pandemic and major sport injuries put me in a downward spiral I felt I couldn't get out of. I tried a few techniques to increase my energy and motivation levels but nothing really worked. Through Alyssa's coaching sessions, I was able to identify key areas I wanted to develop in, sort out roadblocks holding me back, and set short/medium term goals to work towards.
We focused on prioritizing health while balancing my needs for community and doing well in my professional life. I was surprised to see that putting aside one hour a week to work with Alyssa helped me run my first 10k in three years, tripled my energy levels, and put me on a better track to developing as a product manager. I would highly recommend Alyssa's coaching sessions for anyone who feels they've been stuck making progress on goals in their life, feel demotivated, and/or have low energy levels... but are ready to make some changes and work on improving.”

“Before I began working with Alyssa, I was going through a period of my life where I desperately wanted to make changes with how I viewed myself, my friends, my actions, my schedule and so on. However, I was not doing the necessary things to be successful in making these changes. I was frustrated with myself constantly for not doing what I said I was going to do and feeling like I did not have enough time in the day to accomplish the things I wanted too.
When we first started to work together, I was very much in a victim mentality mindset. It was hard to admit that to myself as well as recognize how I am hindering myself from reaching my own set out goals. I already knew I wanted and needed to make a change but I kept hitting walls that were built by myself. Working with Alyssa allowed me to give grace to myself and to others, recognize what behaviors or habits I had that were not supporting me in the ways I intended. I was able to make real progress in setting boundaries and truly sticking with them. These boundaries were anything from saying no to taking on more work, saying no to going out and drinking, and even saying yes to things I want to do but made excuses for such as going to the gym, getting enough sleep, and giving myself time to relax.
I was starting a transition period of my life when I first started working with Alyssa and honestly I would not be where I am now if I had never started working with her. Having guidance and support in this transition has made it so much easier to truly stick things out when they become difficult. One of my main struggles, that I still have today, is with substance abuse and although Alyssa may not personally understand what I am going through she has been there for me on every single step along the way of figuring out how to deal with addiction in a society where it is so normalized and in some cases celebrated (drinking alcohol).
I am about to graduate college and start my career as a Middle School Science Teacher in August. Without working with Alyssa, I truly do not think I would feel so level headed and excited for my career to start, have a grasp on substance use, or be able to set and stick to boundaries in multiple settings.
I could not be more grateful for the time and energy Alyssa gave to me during these last 6 months! She is a dedicated professional who genuinely cares for every single person she works with. She personalizes the meetings to whatever you may be dealing with, I never once felt that the meetings were scripted, rushed, or impersonal. She even pushed me to be more honest with myself and with her, to where she can truly help me in the ways I needed it. I also greatly appreciated that she is coming from a medical professional perspective, it may be life coaching but it is backed by real science and research that she often presented during our meetings!
I would recommend Alyssa’s services to anyone who may feel stuck in their situation, whether that is with transitioning into a period of life, substance abuse, body image, mentality and how you speak to yourself, and so on. I have never had a situation or question that Alyssa could not answer or give insight too. Even if she needed to research and get back to me at a later date, she always did!

“To start off with, I have so much appreciation & gratitude working with Alyssa! She did a phenomenal job keeping me in check & helping me have the right mindset towards anything that comes my way in life. Before I met Alyssa I was pretty depressed, kind of lost, & didn’t feel like I had a sense of purpose in my life. I was not doing well mentally & physically, I had negative thoughts all the time, I was eating poorly, not working out at all, staying up late & sleeping in wasting my days away.
Fortunately with the help from Alyssa, I value myself more & know what I can bring to the table for myself & others out there. I no longer eat very poorly & meal prep my food now, which I never did. I’m waking up earlier & working out daily versus being lazy. I’m having more of a positive attitude & outlook at life & things that I can control versus things I can’t control. Also, my communication skills with setting boundaries & expressing my feelings has had major improvement after talking things out with Alyssa. She really knew how to keep me motivated & keep me going.
To sum it up, the coaching relationship I had with Alyssa was superb & very fun experience. She was really easy to talk to & made our experience feel like a safe place. We connected very well & shared some similar likings. She kept it 100% with me the whole time. She really listened well & had useful feedback for me always. Do I feel like my life has improved with the help of Alyssa? The answer is “Yes”. I’ve come to realize that it’s ok to get help, you don’t have to do everything alone in life. The help I got from Alyssa was 1000% much needed. I can now attack life with a positive mindset & utilize my days being more productive.
Once again, I’m forever grateful for Alyssa, I’m glad me & her crossed paths in life. I really needed someone like her in my life. She really pushes you & gives you the insight you need. I would highly recommend her to quite a few of my friends out there that are stuck & struggling with life. Sometimes all you need is some guidance & motivation coming from the right person, which Alyssa does a fine job on! I’m really glad & fortunate I went through all these sessions with Alyssa. I’ve become a better person & have more of a sense of purpose with this life we are given.”

“I started working with Alyssa shortly after moving to a new city and switching teams at my company. I'm a 28-year old software developer who had picked up some terrible workaholic habits over the previous three years and needed to bring back much needed discipline in my life. With Alyssa's help, I started exercising regularly again, started eating healthy and meal prepping, stopped stress eating candy, and drastically cut back on my caffeine intake. I accomplished all of these things in less than three months and have so far stuck with them (1 month and counting).
Throughout the 3 month period, she held me accountable, made me aware of bad mental habits, and gave me life hack suggestions to meet my goals (one example is ordering groceries online to save me time on the weekends grocery shopping). I would not be this happy with my life this quickly after uprooting my life if it wasn't for Alyssa's help.”

“Before starting my work with Alyssa, I was having difficulty navigating through my self-limiting beliefs when it came to my career and past experiences as a nurse. Through my work with Alyssa, I was able to separate my identity from my outward accomplishments and success and focus inward on cultivating my identity based on who I am as a person and the skills that I possess in order to help best serve others. Through focused self-awareness, self-compassion and mindfulness, Alyssa helped empower me to see my true potential as a nurse. She always held space for me to emote and express myself fully whether it be through laughter or tears. She listened deeply to my concerns and offered wisdom when needed. The nurse coaching process is nothing short of transformative.
As Alyssa asked me to “play full out” with her in each session, she completely matched that same energy and level of commitment in each one of our sessions together. I would highly recommend Alyssa’s coaching to anyone who is wanting to explore their hopes, desires and fears on a deeper level while also addressing and working through their own self-limiting beliefs. Alyssa is a kind, compassionate soul and will undoubtedly touch the lives of so many through her coaching!”

“Before starting to work with Alyssa, my life felt unfulfilled. I wasn’t able to motivate myself or figure out the right steps to make meaningful changes to my health and well-being. With the coaching sessions, I was able to figure out some healthy habits I can form, which have already been life changing. Once holding myself accountable to what Alyssa and I talked about in our sessions, I found I am now able to enjoy my free time in a more productive way that betters my mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Alyssa is a great coach because she is in it whole-heartedly. She is extremely easy to talk to and has a great balance between being a good listener and giving a little conversational guidance where it’s needed. I felt very heard in our sessions, as the action plans we would make were always pertinent to not only our discussion from that day but also conversations we had in prior sessions.
From the plans we made and ideas we dug into together, I can happily say I am better off now than I was before working with Alyssa. I gained a new outlook on how I should be taking care of myself and an appreciation for my own ability to change my life for the better. I now feel like I am in control of my life and not the other way around!
It is very easy to recognize when you need change in your life or routine but it can be difficult to actually pull yourself up to do it. For anyone who feels stuck in their current life cycle and is looking for ways to better their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, I recommend working with Alyssa. The work she does truly is life changing!”
